Jo in the Lackadaisy universe is an adult in her 20s. Where in her 20s depends on how far her story has progressed!

• Bookkeeper. Unlike Mordecai himself, not involved in anything illicit or embezzlement-related. In fact, she overtly very strictly by-the-book and does not take well to hiding things unless doing so in plain sight. This is a bit of a trick.
• That bewildered look does appear to be her natural affect, but she can be quite serious and knows more than you think.
• Autistic, good with numbers. Likes puzzles. Not a fan of uncomfortable textures. Not the best at being social, mostly stays in the background to the point where she is often overlooked.
• Can be manipulative when pressed. There was at least one time where Mordecai was supposed to take her out for good and she utilized his distress at asymmetry to her advantage.
• Goody two-shoes. At least, has a strict moral code. This does not preclude her working with the mob or anything like that; she just likes things to be on her terms.
• Capable of using a gun; she does not like the noise, but can defend herself. Had a teacher who was persistent in getting her to learn to protect herself, but is reluctant to fight unless backed into a corner.
• Mordecai gets frustrated by how naive she seems, at first; like she shouldn't be a part of this world. He learns not to underestimate her when she points out an important piece of info that others missed, and ends up (begrudgingly) considering her something close to an intellectual equal.
• A big part of why she is so skittish all the time is because she is incredibly risk-averse; she knows the odds of everything horrible that could happen and does not like being put on the spot or in dangerous situations.
• In another life or time she would have been the world's strictest mathematics professor.
• She spends a lot of time trying to figure out how to ensure the best way for her to survive at the cost of pretty much anyone around her. She is not used to seeing others as anything more than pawns to be used, even if she is not entirely good at the game, yet. She is actually not a good person, though this is due to growing up with a sense of solipsism, rather than malice.
• She won't acknowledge others as important unless she can figure out if they are of use to her. Mordecai confuses her a bit because she actually finds his emotional and social struggles rather endearing. This is a new feeling for her, and she isn't sure if she likes it.
• Ever since her childhood, she has not really been able to relate to people. Whether this was due to feeling dissociated from how others appear to think or make decisions, or just bad luck in who she had the opportunity to interact with, she is vaguely aware that others do not function the way she does- to the extent that she observes others functioning at all.
